Inside Out -- Why Cats Should Stay In

Our cat goes squirrel hunting. No we don't let him out, but he bounds from window sill to window sill, chasing squirrels as they scurry to and fro outside, safe from feline interference. So why not let little Tabby out to catch a few pelts?

Here are the top ten reasons to keep her indoors:

  • 10. Kittens. Lots of surprise kittens.
  • 9. Indoor cats are handy when there is a mouse in the house
  • 8. Do you want to touch something when you don't know where it's been?
  • 7. Indoor cats are cleaner - your arms will not be shredded if you don't have to bathe her
  • 6. Outdoor cats bring you dead animals, indoor cats bring cat toys
  • 5. When you pet your indoor cat you won't get fleas
  • 4. Neighbor Bob has a shotgun
  • 3. Indoor cats actually live longer
  • 2. Using the neighbor's garden as a litter box is unhygienic
  • 1. Cats make great coyote snacks.
